General Synod's gift for your parish, deanery and diocese!
Welcome to PLF Land!
Let's watch how the Prayers of Love and Faith bring 'unity' to PCCs, parishes and dioceses across the Church of England.
Coming to a parish near you!
In November 2023, General Synod marginally voted in favour of House of Bishop's proposed Prayers of Love and Faith and asked them to be brought forward under Canon B5A instead of under Canon B2 - thereby not requiring a two-thirds majority vote. The Prayers or Love and Faith please neither side of the debate. Whatever your views of PLF, please share how it is impacting your PCC, parish or diocese using our anonymous form below 👇

'Pastoral breakdown'
Through PLF, the bishops have passed the buck to the rest of the church. The LLF Pastoral Guidance document acknowledges that PLF may cause 'intractable difference' between PCCs and clergy. Dioceses are advised to have trained facilitators who can work with churches when 'conversations become conflictual'. Does this enable 'unity'?
Legal advice! What legal advice!
The bishops have refused to share their legal advice with Synod - contrary to standard process. Historically, bishops have always shared their legal insights prior to a course of action. Without full access to a legal understanding of the PLF, clergy could become targets for legal action.
